I have a friend whose early-20's child has recently come out as being transgender. The adult child is also autistic.

The friend asked if there was a "support group" for trans people who are also neuro-atypical. I kindof wanted to tell them to just hang out out Mastodon (;-)), but is there a more formal group?

Boosts are welcome and thank you in advance!

@tompurl they should try checking out Pride center in nearest larger city. most have a trans meetup and an online group as well and may also have a neurodivergent group as well. Regional one's will be better able to point at relevant resources for area.

while they're on quest for that, might also enjoy the book "Spectrums: Autistic Transgender People in Their Own Words" which spans a wide away of experiences & how those two things intersect

@tompurl throwing purchase link in separate reply if you want a non-amazon link rainydaypaperback.com/product/ full transparacy that's my own bookstore. I run the book club for Pride here and it was one of the books we read last year.

@FenrisLorsrai Thanks for this link too. I just put in my order.

@FenrisLorsrai Thank you for the excellent tips. I definitely need to check that book out.
