I find it interesting how the only people in this day and age who idolize Daryl Davis are the reactionaries who want to use his body of work to stop efforts to fight fascism in a much more direct way. And today he's come out speaking against antifa and how we're oh so violent.

All I gotta say is, It's only a matter of time. You break bread with fascists long enough, and eventually you'll fall into their habits and mannerisms. I need to emphasize that while Daryl Davis may have once been an ally, he is now an enemy, he's been co-opted and taken in by the modern language of neo-fascists. He's bought into the respectability politics when de-escalation is no longer a viable option today.

It's no longer the 1960's where racists are emboldened to go out and about with skinhead tattoos, and wear bedroom sheets with the Klansman logo on them. Modern fascism is a lot more subtle, insidious, subversive and dangerous, with the public image of them being the clean-cut, clean shaven models of Americans you wouldn't suspect to be out of place in the 1950's.

Remember, out and about villains are easy to identify, but the truly ugly, the truly dangerous people are the ones who hide behind virtue. Don't be fooled.
