If there is one thing about me that often gets exploited, it's my immense capacity to look past people's flaws and see the good in them.
It hurts to think about how many of my former friends within AltFurry, and even leftists groups from a past era could have been so much better people, if they could just recognize and bring out their best, instead of hiding in fear and indulging in their darkest most primal desires.
Believe it or now, a lot of them are capable of love, they just chose not to.
I do need to be careful moving forward, I need to resist the temptation to ignore those flaws. We are all flawed, after all, how we choose to carry ourselves, then, is our choice, and ours only to make. Therefore, any harm they incur within their vicinity is their responsibility to take, and my responsibility, as a friend to hold them to it.
