I am getting mixed messages as to which party are being racist. Is it the person who got reported being racist, or the people reporting them?
Either way, this is completely tangled in with impression I got that the admins of Snouts mishandled the situation and it just went downhill from there. A few people got harassed off the platform too, and I have to wonder how much of this is necessary.
Like, at the end of the say i consider a majority of Snouts to be anti-authoritarian at least in some sense, and a lot of them are invested in yeeting Trump. With this implosion happening so close to the elections, I feel like the shut-down is going to do a lot more harm than good.

@FreyaManibrandr neither were being racist. a jewish user spotted someone on the TL using nazi terminology with an anime avatar, and sent a report. the admins at the time found out that the reported user was also jewish and talking to a another jewish user and the one who made the report was like "oh okay that makes sense then." that's when the admin of the other instance decided to dunk without finding out context and implied the reporting user was a white racist

@FreyaManibrandr THEN the user who made the report got angry and shouted at the admin of the other instance and THEN another one of our users said "honk honk" to the PoC admin of a *third* instance without knowing it was a Nazi meme, was informed, and deleted the toot, publicly apologised, and said they were going to investigate their friends that used it. but by then it had already been decided, thanks to the "rumour mill" deliberately spreading fals information.
