🌠Hey plural peeps, quick q for ya'll. Have any of you had a host swap? How do you handle the identity crisis that can come from that? I'm kinda the second newest system member and may be having issues dealing with not having a past...

@lunarvale Well, back before our system was a system, there was @DemonISM who was the original host, but when xey tried to reinvent xemself, xey accidentally created Valerie, who is the yang to xeyr yin, and the host status transferred over to fae.
In the end xey got xeyr wish, as xey ended up a very different person nowadays compared to xeyr past, since xey are no longer tormented by overwhelming emotions xey were never meant to handle. That task is now handled by myself (Julayla) and Valerie.

@lunarvale @DemonISM Honestly, we just got lucky. Val had no idea that it happened, and went on thinking fae were Iselyn and the self reinvention succeeded for the next few years, and then fae realized "Wait, the name Joan doesn't fit me, I'm Valerie" but the realization that fae was a creation only happened after Iselyn came back, and the general sentiment was "Oh that makes sense."
There's a lot more that I skipped over, but in a way we were just lucky because Iselyn wanted an identity shift, and it happened in a roundabout way.

@lunarvale @DemonISM (For context, Iselyn was born an apath, and xeyr early life was dominated by intense feelings of self-hatred for it.)

@FreyaManibrandr @DemonISM Ok but... How did you deal? I'm completely lost on how to handle this, how to establish myself when i have no memories, or don't trust exomemories?
