@mearcstapa it's tiring for this dude to imply that diverse indigenous societies had substantially similar relationships to "the environment" as euro colonizers who explicitly crossed oceans to engage in genocidal, extractive imperialism and capitalism
you mentioned specific people groups, and he collapsed your nuance to "the natives" which is the point in this exchange that's actually racist. he doesn't know about the people groups you mentioned and he doesn't care. diverse indigenous people groups are all "the natives" to him and he's unduly invested in the narrative that different ways of life are all destined to be just as bad for the environment as that of colonizing europeans *except* the way of life he's promulgating. i'm not confident he's capable of good faith discussions or respecting boundaries and i want to block him. anyway let me know if you want me to block him

@dark_soil @mearcstapa@rage.love yeah this dude is clearly eco-fash. Reminds me of this one asshole who got on my case for suggesting sustenance hunting as a way to bypass the meat industry.
The point I was trying to make then is that it's the capitalism part that makes meat consumption unethical, and that makes veganism under capitalism just as unethical.
That point flew over his head, and he went on a rant on how all meat eating is murder.
