@lycaon mm yea that's fair

i guess i also like it for reading back the history and understasnding stuff?

i find it is often easier to learn a codebase when i can read commit by commit than just looking at a pile of stuff

using it to fix fuckups is quite tricky in some cases. now that i have been doing it for a long time it feels much easier than doing it manually but i remember it being the reverse too

i've used it in full-time dayjob shit for ... 7 years tho? thas a lotta hours

@bea @lycaon@dev.glitch.social we used to use svn which let you save yourself from fuck ups and also didn’t generally give you more fuckups to deal with. Im not sure why people switched to git from svn...

@Fuego @lycaon yeah i did a year and a half of svn and it was alright

i feel like git lets me do more stuff i shouldn't do (which i like because i'm a fucker) and branching is more lightweight

other than that 🤷

@bea @lycaon@dev.glitch.social yeah I’m sure got has some functionality svn doesn’t that other people use but if you eff up got a lot svn is worth using.
