Whats the new hot functional programming language and why would I use it instead of clisp?
@Fuego @bea The one thing i can see moving myself away from lisps for is the Hindler-Milney static inference stuff from Haskell or more modernly the dependant typing stuff from Idris.
The Clojure world has been doing a lot of good stuff bridging this gap with things like spec. It might be the closest thing to a marriage between what I think are the two kinds of languages at the forefront (MLs and Lisps)
@krinndnz I looked at clojure and then I was like... "fuckin really? they translate this to java byte code? no."
I have a strict no java interpreters on my systems rule :/
@krinndnz i was kinda thinking uh scheme?
@krinndnz yeah, I expect clojure is the best answer to the question - I just super object to the implementation and I'm not feeling write my own interpreter today
@Fuego hmm, maybe @sed has some idea?
