The best part of the film version is the framing narrative. Bunch of people in a bus drive to the desert. They reenact this sacrifice story. They all get on the bus and drive home... except the guy that played jesus! They actually killed him! How hard core a ritual is that???

Watch it like judas is a radical revolutionary with a serious plan and his charismatic boyfriend goes off the rails getting with this lady then trying to let everything spiral out of control in this self destructive burst turning all their strategy into this loud attempt to get everyone martyred
