I'm not sure I've mentioned this, but by this point, Masto has likely saved my life.
During the Falling Out, Twitter became one of the few social ties left to me in ~2015/2016. Despite pitching its client, I do still regularly read a few accounts from there. And the information environment has gotten... really bad. Had I not had an alternative to that ecosystem, I'm not sure if I would have emotionally recovered.
I don't know how to fully express my gratitude that this community exists.

@Goldkin *hug* It's remarkable just what a community exists here. I'd be feeling so isolated without - instead, I've started to know some truly remarkable, fun individuals, to an extent not even LJ at its peak could manage; more akin to the glory days of a.f.f.
BTW, not sure what's up, but your recent toots appear to only be now showing up here, despite this one being apparently five days old. Are you beyond the solar system now?
re: ~
Being able to actually build connections again here and in group chats, without worrying about the performative hellscape Twitter and other larger platforms have become, has made such a big difference over the past year or so.
I guess it's also important to point, many other people were in this same situation, and that I'm thankful they escaped as well.
