@ghost_bird @SuzanEraslan@anticapitalist.party (From my looking glass inside infosec communities over the past 10 years, there are definitely cliques of practitioners that have no idea how their choices impact real people and protection rackets. However, there’s also sustained countercultures of activists that are tech-literate, and those might be folks worth talking to?)

@ghost_bird @SuzanEraslan@anticapitalist.party (The intersection I’m familiar with: leftist folks that migrated to tech culture in the 80s and 90s, only to watch their small communities get razed by media culture and marketing coalitions that gave rise to Facebook, et al.

I fit that description, and I know several other folks that do, too.
