1. corporations are a form of AI, and are the dominant form of life on this planet

this one seems self-evident, but if you need some help putting the pieces together, this piece by Charles Stross might help: antipope.org/charlie/blog-stat ... or you could just watch the 1988 classic film "They Live".

in any case, while there do exist corporations which can peacefully coexist with humans, most of what passes for peaceful coexistence these days is either accidental or due to humans regulating corporations. regulatory capture is making the latter less and less common.

@technomancy @orrery A corollary to this is that it's ethical and necessary to build and protect spaces that corporations cannot reach -- ie, spaces in service to humans instead of paperclip maximizers.

I think about this a lot in the context of Masto, re, why human administration just Does Better. And it's because its masters are different.

@technomancy @orrery Humans make a lot of mistakes, mind, but that's also part of the programming that keeps things stable. Not so for an AI with a perfect understanding of the wrong problem and infinite resources at its disposal.
