one of the things I really love about the Splatoon series is how hard it commits to its incredibly dark premise: a training program for child soldiers conditioning them to fight to the death, using their own bodily fluids, in an environment where they are technologically immortal, to prepare them for an endless war where "respawners" are not necessarily available
@Goldkin @Soreth now thinking about why the many industrial zones used as Splatoon multiplayer maps have so many unguarded places to fall into open water and die, among other unguarded hazards: because who needs OSHA when you have respawners?
