@salameleon I think Twitter has, at this point, fallen so far down the rabbit hole of misinformation and mob rule that people will latch onto anything to vent their frustration.

To that end, I think quite a few people still (mistakenly) associate open displays of fetish gear with the closure of RF, as opposed a level of unchecked disinhibition that resulted in severe destruction of property.

There is a balance on both of these, but what I've seen flying around Twitter isn't it.

@salameleon To that end, I think the elephant in the room isn't fetish or substance use, but what to do about people who repeatedly violate the rules of the spaces they participate in. And that is the job of con security.

The best cons I've been to have excellent security and are not afraid to pull badges for misbehavior. Leading to more open-ended rules on who gets to participate, instead of trying to exclude every group that might overlap with individuals that are destructive.
