@Yarideki@monsterpit.net One of the early items you get in Ocarina of Time normally. They’re typically used for solving torch puzzles in the game, but they also do good (master sword equivalent) damage, at the cost of one stick a hit.

So, basically a consumable standing in for what should be a (reusable) sword.

Chaser: It was in the last sphere generated by the seed, one chest _after_ finding the boomerang for go mode.

Just placed an electronics order to see how tiny I can make a dedicated two-factor device. Not everything I use supports U2F or FIDO2 (that’s already easy), and I’m kind of afraid of a simple phone drop leading to manual recovery of ~20 TOTP keys.

I’m a little surprised this is not a common enough thing for there to already exist commodity devices, so I’m going to try a Raspberry Pi Zero W build first.

@salameleon@snouts.online I watch a lot of speedgaming during slow periods at work. There’s at least one set of savestates floating around to practice six heart Blind and other combat scenarios common to rando.

I’ll see if I can pull those up later.

@salameleon@snouts.online Happy to run friendlies and chat. Can’t make a regular schedule work for tournament play just yet, but possibly can run dailies and weeklies over the holidays.

For routing, I’ve started using a priority queue, organized by hints, then required dungeons in logic sorted by item density, routed breadth-first. This crude take on A* improved my average time significantly and might be worth trying.

Beyond the immediate tale of loss and reconciliation, the most powerful things for me were how Theo and Badeline both help her through the seeming impossibility of grief. Just very well done.

I’ve been picking at a few other randomizers lately for exercise time. Currently working through OoT randomizer, with a plan to try Metroid Prime rando next.

Current seed I’ve been trying across several sessions put bombs, Zelda’s lullaby, and the adult’s wallet deep into the Gerudo desert, forcing me to route in all the shortcuts in the game.

Apparently I remembered those and most of the caves under rocks everywhere, despite not playing this game for many years?

The goose is an incarnation of one or more trickster gods, and no one can convince me otherwise.

tl;dr: I’ve learned to greatly appreciate robot wars as a genre of videogame.
