tech, tiny computer
@JulieSqveakaroo Indeed.
The software I will be running on it is expected to have huge font and very minimal input, so it won’t be too bad when the build is completed.
tech, tiny computers
@qdot My condolences.
I had to bootstrap the Raspbian install for this off of my Pi 2 due to apparent overheating, so I can’t imagine what node must have been like.
... and now I’m wondering if anyone has emerged world on one of these.
@V this isn't even a theory, this is straight-up canon

"Actually, in our timeline, a goose chased Thatcher out of office, spurring a Bennite revolution and the irreparable decline of the Tory party. The villagers are Marxists."

re: oot randomizer
@Yarideki@monsterpit.net One of the early items you get in Ocarina of Time normally. They’re typically used for solving torch puzzles in the game, but they also do good (master sword equivalent) damage, at the cost of one stick a hit.
So, basically a consumable standing in for what should be a (reusable) sword.
tech, dedicated two-factor device
Just placed an electronics order to see how tiny I can make a dedicated two-factor device. Not everything I use supports U2F or FIDO2 (that’s already easy), and I’m kind of afraid of a simple phone drop leading to manual recovery of ~20 TOTP keys.
I’m a little surprised this is not a common enough thing for there to already exist commodity devices, so I’m going to try a Raspberry Pi Zero W build first.
unsolicited advice, re, routing and combat
@salameleon@snouts.online ... and there are a bunch of resources provided by SRL and its Discord/IRC for improving combat and working with particularly weird item loadouts.
For routing, I’ve started using a priority queue, organized by hints, then required dungeons in logic sorted by item density, routed breadth-first. This crude take on A* improved my average time significantly and might be worth trying.
the difference between an engineer and witch:
- an engineer knows that if a part is designed for one purpose, it won't work well in others
- a witch knows that "what it was made for" is always a subset of "what it can do"
PSA for Washington State Cannabis Users
Due to a state-wide "emergency ban" of flavored vape cartridges by executive order of Governor Jay Inslee[1], Have a Heart cannabis shops are selling flavored vape carts at a 30% discount and plan to pull them from their shelves as of Tuesday the 8th. I can't speak for other Cannabis shops in the area but suspect you'll find similar situations.
