So I'm at the back half of a trip currently, in which translating Norwegian gave me tools to explain how tribal dragon languages work. Figured I'd write it down before I forgot, in a place easier to boost if it helps.

For reasons, I can't really credit myself with inventing this. It also won't be complete and key concepts will differ by dialect. I guess consider it a shared con- or pseudo-language if you prefer it that way.

So anyway, it turns out backporting from TotK to BotW is more straightforward than expected, so a lot of the stuff being developed for the new game will work in the older one too.

There's such a huge difference in how this is being handled between well-meaning-but-ineffective admins that want to avoid confrontation vs admins who are survivors and Have Seen Some Shit. Especially folks who saw this before during the LJ days or have seen what happened to XMPP.

Listen to the survivors, folks. Facebook doesn't give a flying fuck about Fedi, they want to push everyone back to their platform and destroy competition. We've seen this before, we'll see this again, and the only way to fight it is to deny them a platform before they gain traction.

Many of us are here because big social media platforms failed us, actively abused our personal info, became increasingly hostile spaces to queer and LGBTQ+ folk, and killed services that allowed us to manage attention and administrate our own spaces -- in favor of ad revenue and maximizing ROI. Fuck that, and fuck the notion of them forcing Fedi to capitulate to their demands.

I have absolute respect for fediadmins that are working very hard against the troll push on this one. Keep fighting the good fight. 💜

Turns out, the armature for Link in Breath of the Wild is almost identical to TotK, so I ran some experiments over the weekend backporting to Breath of the Wild.

No video yet since it's the start of my work week, but this works in BotW too, and that's awesome.
