PayPal is updating their ToS to let themselves give your data to merchants starting in November and they're certainly banking on people not knowing to opt out, SO to opt out before they start:
go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Manage shared info > Personalized shopping, and toggle that shit off

psa: llm bullshit, zoom auto-enable opt-out
PSA: Zoom is automatically opting in its Pro users into its AI bullshit. Their deadline for opt-out is 8/28/2024*.
Supposedly, this is to remove an extra setting, moving this to being enabled per meeting, and does not result in model training. But if you're like me and don't like even the option of it being enabled, this is worth keeping off at the account level.
They hid the setting in a pop-up notification at the top of their settings page:
https://zoom.us/profile/setting?tab=aicompanion
Infuriatingly, this setting disappears when clicked and didn't initially appear when I navigated to settings on their website, so I'm not able to demonstrate it here. It's so fucking suspicious that I checked if it was a phishing email, but as best as I can tell, it seems to be legitimate. (I'm pulling a few punches here, since a possible explanation is this was the easiest way to implement this feature on their end.)
Anyway: if you're using Zoom, (1) verify their email if you got it, as phishing scams can easily reuse how they did this and (2) go do the thing.

* The top date is 8/29/2024, but they then state 8/28 further down the document. I would recommend trusting the earlier deadline so they don't get the benefit of user confusion there.
