As a storyteller, I don't like "broken" worlds.
In "The Walking Dead", for example; all conflicts in that show are caused directly, or indirectly, by zombies. In "Attack on Titan", it's the giants.
What cheap drama, filled with barbaric characters and contrived plots with no sense of the mundane.
Big money, though...

Thinking about timed mutes as a Mastodon feature. e.g.:
Mute user for:
⚪️ 1 hour
⚪️ 3 hours
⚪️ 6 hours
⚪️ 12 hours
⚪️ 1 day
🔘 Unmute manually
Should that be a separate line item in the drop-down menu (since I suspect permanent/manual muting is the most common use case)?
What should the durations be? Should it just be a text box or number scroller with "minutes/hours/days" in a drop-down, instead of having hard-coded durations?
Should it be opt-in (i.e. an option in Preferences to enable it)?

Basically Elon Musk wants to bring about our new cyberpunk future with a brain-machine interface. And it's awesome.

OK hold on. I'm watching turbo a power rangers movie and its bad. But whatever. They're looking for a crashed wizard in the jungle and Kat just said to Tommy "can I get some water" and he was like "yeah" and turned so she had access to his backpack, sure.
She pressed a button revealing a tiny, and I mean TINY, little can, and drank it. Was that all the water he was carrying? And then she... Handed it back to him. What's he going to do? Why didn't she put it back in the backpack?? THIS NONSENSE

Just an idea for a feature.
Perhaps an additional privacy setting that allows you to post just to local timeline and followers and not the instances your instance is federalized with.
This is for stuff that might be instance community related or you just want to limit the initial spread of a toot/awoo.
the fact that ostatus is based on rss so I can track artists in my rss reader already makes mastodon/gnusocial/ostatus a better platform than furaffinity
