Capitalism is bullshit, link to birdsite

Went off on a tangent last night/this morning thanks to this tweet popping up on my twitter timeline: twitter.com/DanPriceSeattle/st. How we may be earning more money than our parents, but we're also paying WAY more than they did at our age, using 1970 and 2020 as baseline years for price comparisons (given most boomers would be in their 20's-30's in the 70's, and most millenials are in their 20's-30's today.) Federal minimum wage went up 453% in 50 years, sure, but that's pennies compared to how much housing and education went up. Median prices on housing (in America at least) went up nearly a whopping 1,400% in price, rent is up a whopping 1,500%, and education? A STAGGERING 3,000% in average cost of a 4 year degree. Boomers can fuck right off with their bullshit "work harder" advice. The blatant lie that was trickle-down economics can fuck right off.
