the weird furry stuff part of introductions

If I was less shy, this feed would probably contain more dragons and dragon porn, tentacles, latex, inflatables, etc. I should probably just post all that stuff more and rely on content warnings to let people self-sort if they don’t want to deal with it. I mean, not everybody’s here for the software.

I don’t think I’ve ever done an post, so:

Hi! I’m Kistaro Windrider. I’m
* nonbinary
* a software engineer
* too frazzled for side projects
* near Seattle
* otherkin (dragon) with a complicated cosmology
* vaguely neopagan, occasional Tarot reader
* pretty harsh about self-censorship, which is why there isn’t a lot more weird furry stuff on this feed

A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO COMPUTER SECURITY

Also had to research why dates were getting weird when read from a certain system. Turns out the database stores them in a Julian-Gregorian calendar and the program we use to read uses a proleptic Gregorian calendar. This means the date 0001-01-01 in the source is converted to 0000-12-30 and then we get a "date out of range" error since dates require a positive year value.
