the weird furry stuff part of introductions
If I was less shy, this feed would probably contain more dragons and dragon porn, tentacles, latex, inflatables, etc. I should probably just post all that stuff more and rely on content warnings to let people self-sort if they don’t want to deal with it. I mean, not everybody’s here for the software.
I don’t think I’ve ever done an #introductions post, so:
Hi! I’m Kistaro Windrider. I’m
* nonbinary
* a software engineer
* too frazzled for side projects
* near Seattle
* otherkin (dragon) with a complicated cosmology
* vaguely neopagan, occasional Tarot reader
* pretty harsh about self-censorship, which is why there isn’t a lot more weird furry stuff on this feed
my favorite demon is probably Adrammelech, the "supervisor of Satan's wardrobe" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrammelech
meta, dunking, tone policing
When we create a culture where it's okay to gang up on and harass people, the ones who suffer most are never the ones who "deserve it", because those people inevitably have backup/clout/resources. The people who suffer most will be vulnerable and marginalized people who are wrongly accused of misbehavior and don't have a fanbase or clique to back them up. Mob behavior is *easy to exploit*, and we should be very careful about normalizing it.
Sex and STDs
If you're sexually active, make sure you're getting tested at least annually, and several weeks after any especially high risk encounter.

Also had to research why dates were getting weird when read from a certain system. Turns out the database stores them in a Julian-Gregorian calendar and the program we use to read uses a proleptic Gregorian calendar. This means the date 0001-01-01 in the source is converted to 0000-12-30 and then we get a "date out of range" error since dates require a positive year value.
Chameleonic dragon. Otherkin. Some kind of eclectic neo-Pagan. Sie/hir or they/them. Software engineer. Seattle-esque, WA. Expect software takes, complaints about the tech industry, board games, video games, an inexplicably obsession with paper notebooks despite my handwriting, and Weird Furry Stuff.
