Important reminder: fruit bats are awesome

That is all

Exercise is a really effective antidepressant. I walked four blocks, bought a bunch of meat pies, and walked back and just the walk has made me feel quite a lot better than I have been. (no, I haven't eaten the meat pies yet, and no, i do not take enough advantage of living in walking distance of a British delicatessen)

I hate being depressing and stressful to deal with. I’m sorry I’ve been so negative lately, I’ll keep working on changing my focus.

I don’t feel dysphoric enough or socialist enough to feel welcome in the social spaces I’m most closely associated with

what classic 4X game is fed to elephants in most zoos?

Sid Meier’s Alfalfa Centauri

Artist: So, uh, I've got this sketch of a demon at a synthesizer keyboard for the heavy metal slash new wave band I never quite got together

Writer: Excellent, just stick it on a dot matrix printer and add a paper trail streaming out from Earth like it's a rocket

Artist: I dunno man, I mean this is computer hardware you're selling not LSD

Writer: It's the 80s, same thing

#meta #tea: Remember, from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, that machine that "invariably delivered a cupful of liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea"?

Only decades after reading that, in an office in another country, did I first meet an older British "tea" machine. It could, in theory, produce chocolate, coffee, or tea; but invariably delivered a cupful of brown liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike any of them.

And I said, "Oh THAT'S what he meant."

I’ve gotten myself into a match of this iOS game called “Subterfuge”, which is apparently a relative of Diplomacy that plays out in real time over a week. I’m not going to last two days, it’s going to be *awesome*

Zeroth-world problems: work has a plentiful supply of free breakfast sandwiches but no mayonnaise

All those “type a thing and let your phone text predictor finish it” memes come out really depressing for me. Apparently my phone has discerned that the most likely thing I am to do in approximately any situation is to beg for forgiveness for my perceived inadequacies and for being busy at work. 😐

With the “super courier” rules instead of “shop everywhere”, Turbo Mode feels a lot more like DOTA. A weird, silly game of DOTA where everyone comes online way too easily, but DOTA.

Servicing company 'might have' driven Tax reform at 170km/h

DOTA 2 Turbo Mode is the casual arcade game that needed. Or at least that I needed. The games are short enough I don’t get too emotionally invested in them, so it’s more okay to clown around, try new things, do things I’m bad at, and improve at the game.

I’m worst at the action-y parts of the game so it’s odd that I enjoy the mode that focuses on them to the exclusion of all else, but I’m using it as a chance to practice what I most need to improve.

Hi my gender is nonbinary but sometimes I’m ✨🌟gaaaaaaay🌟✨

Mario Odyssey is kind of establishing that Mario is some kind of freaky super-hobbit

substance use

Cannabis concentrate catridges honestly, sincerely feel like cheating. Less effort to set up or maintain, much less of a fuzzy-headed sleepy hangover the next day, less asthma and nasal congestion (still some of the latter but less), still get the effects I want, etc.

The obvious conclusion is "I should use those then", but it really *does* feel like some sort of cheating. I should ignore that sense; it's good practice at not overmoralizing every little damn thing. :p
