Disappointed to find out that Marvel gutted all the major Black Panther comics apparently????

Anyway. It's really fucking good

@vahnj The run that we're pointing people at the shop towards is the relatively recent Christopher Priest stuff (it's all collected in about 4 big volumes). That said - that's where a lot of the plot-oriented stuff is coming from.

There's also the new run stuff by Teh-Nahisi Coates which is where a lot of the ideas for visual effects come from.

@KoBunny so Ta-Nehisi didn't get the full chop after all? Hmmm

@vahnj Kind of long story - Coates' initial run of Black Panther is still ongoing and continuing to perform well. Last year(?) Marvel hired Roxanne Gay to do a spinoff series called World of Wakanda. That series did poorly (IMO because Roxanne wasn't really familiar with how to write for comics) and was cancelled after 6 issues.

@vahnj Coates did a second series called "Black Panther and the Crew" which also only lasted 6 issues...but that's because most comic shops ordered it using numbers based on World of Wakanda's ending numbers. Which is sad cause that book was really really good.

And he's doing a third mini-series called Rise of the Black panther that is exploring the origins of Wakanda.
