I figured this movie would be all about how Han got to be everything we know about him. That was there, yes, but it was secondary; this could be your first SW film and it'd be fun. It's the heist movie I never knew I wanted.
They did a GREAT job of scripting Han like he is in Ep. IV-VI, where he desperately TRIES to be this fast talking con artist, and he KINDA does it okay, but he's not actually good at it. I was worried they'd make him too perfect.

@Leucrotta it's not that he's *dumb*, he's just obviously deeply inexperienced, and you can already see how his cockiness is going to get in the way of *learning* stuff, so he ends up being really good at some things and *spectacularly* not very good at others...
"Everything's fine here, we're all fine... how are you??"

@green Han is basically a guy with a 12-14 charisma trying to be the guy with an 18. He isn’t. It’s really difficult to write that without really coming across as smarmy or that actually charismatic, so it was pretty cool that the movie did that!

@Leucrotta yes! his defining attribute trait is "cocky," not "smooth" or even "particularly capable," and though he's apparently gifted at flying, that doesn't help with EVERYTHING ELSE, where he just kinda flails along and survives more by luck than wits or skill. XD
