It pisses me off when rich assholes diss public libraries. The community utility libraries provide include;
1) Outside of our society's constant grinding class war, y'know who else might not have money available for books or coffee whenever they want hangout space? Children, teenagers, senior citizens.
2) Having a place to go that's NOT your "home" is incredibly useful for anyone. Libraries also have A/C which works - a lot of houses and apartments don't.

It doesn't help with me that a lot of the WASTE OF MONEY types mention OH THE POOR HOME OWNERS BEING SOAKED FOR PROPERTY TAXES. Being well off enough to own a house is increasingly rare, but especially where I'm currently trapped or am likely to move. It's like asking me to feel sympathy for people who drank from the Holy Grail.
