my new housemates (now that I've moved to a newer worse-insulated place, and they live under me) have this wakefulness cycle where they're quiet early in the evening, at at 11-1 they're up, chatting and watching TV in their room. Just tried texting them to ask them to turn it down a little.
@porsupah old, it’s a converted farmhouse at the north end of Oakland. The prior owners hadn’t really done much work on it in decades and it shows.
@Leucrotta Huh! I would've expected better construction from something on the older side, prior to every aspect of construction being hyperoptimised for cost. Disappointing, in any event.
@Leucrotta Bleah. New construction, is it? Reminds me of the place I had in San Diego, middle of the three levels. The sound insulation was poor enough that even perfectly normal activity or TV level could be listened to. I didn't even bother trying to watch MST3K "live", just recorded and left the place for a few hours, otherwise it was like the sound was on AM with a couple other stations coming in as well.
