I’m not generally a fan of Biden, but surely of the two, and only two, choices before us, he’s the better of the two?

I mean, I’d like to have a not shitty option, but what-ya-gonna-do?

@pandora_parrot I don't think he really is though. He at best enables the Nazi to win by avoiding fixing the systemic problems (of which he himself has caused and supported plenty of) that leaves us in a situation the Nazi can use to claim that it's all those bad people and not capitalism itself.

In reality, he implements the same security state that the Nazis then use, and claims he'll at least send people to the camps with a smile.

@pandora_parrot they're both terrible non-options. They're two sides of the same coin. That's why I compare it to good-cop bad-cop. neither cop is there to help you.

@pandora_parrot additionally, Biden gets elected and liberals pat themselves on the back as now the "good guy" does all the bad things and they can ignore it.

at least with Trump they're angry about it, even if they incorrectly think he's an anomaly and not the result of the system.

@chimerror you know. That’s somewhat fair. I just want us to at least get the marginal improvement we get with someone that isn’t trying to dismantle most of the government and destroy support programs, environmental programs, etc.

It’s hard to really work on deeper issues when we are constantly in crisis mode dealing with the latest bullshit.

@pandora_parrot And that's the thing, I don't believe we're going to get that. it's not what has happened, we've always been in one crisis or another.

If anything, the boot on our throats is only lifted because it'll be that much harsher when it's put back down.

@chimerror given how awful things have been post Trump for immigrants and trans people, especially, I’d be hesitant to consider the previous administrations equally as bad. They’ve certainly been bad, but Trump has seemed far far worse. Even having a break from that could be nice.

@pandora_parrot The difference between Trump is not that he really does anything different. He's not actually deporting more people than Obama. It's simply that he doesn't bother to put on a mask.

@chimerror even having a mask improves things somewhat. That kind of thing is partly about projected image, which leads the country. Consider the rise in hate crimes against various minorities under trump, vs other presidents. Trump encourages that behavior while others discourage it, at least on the surface.
