Capitalism basically relies on what’s best about humans - creativity, curiosity, community - in order to fuel what’s worst about humanity - greed, elitism and nepotism. If it’s to generate prosperity for more than a few, there needs to be a better balance than what we’ve got now, where there’s an assumption that consumers, raw material and employees are an infinite supply. And in that light honesty, hard work and responsibilities are just more good traits coopted as convenient propaganda.
