Damnit, it's not fair that these fantastic artists are completely beautiful and I'm well, THIS.

"and anyway," they said from a position of having no gender dysphoria whatsoever, "there's not much I can do about it, it's like wanting to get back into model railroading or wanting an actually left leaning political party"

The compounds in question can be surprisingly easy to obtain, officially or otherwise. Whilst you continue to follow the existing path with no greater satisfaction than at any time previously, it may bear consideration that you've perhaps given that option /enough/ time.

It's not that choosing a different path is without its own challenges, absolutely. But it can bring so much.

re: HRT

@porsupah problems here are;

* I really would like to do therapy as part of figuring out where I want to go, and that's definitely not an option - that's not cheap, and it takes time.

* until such time as my parents pass on I'm stuck playing a boy for them, and that bothers me even if I am, in fact, a boy.

* along similar lines I worry about jobs (which affects art as well as gender stuff).

* then that gets us to the stuff I could potentially do - I could shave body hair I dislike, I could wear womens' clothing around friends - but I don't do that because I'm too whatevered. It doesn't help that most socializing with friends these days is hiking where skirts wouldn't be practical anyway.
