Mh stuff, personal history
When I was in 3rd grade or so, my Dad got promoted, so he was around more. This meant he’d teach me math after school to improve my grades. In other words after an entire day of sitting in place trying to do okay at stuff I didn’t like, I had to sit in place trying to do okay at stuff I didn’t like. If I were obviously bored or doing badly he’d snap at me. He never hit; he called me stupid a lot and if I looked upset he’d yell at me to stop feeling sorry for myself.
Mh stuff, personal history
I mention this because that’s a thing pressing my buttons fairly regularly at this job, with the nigh constant “oh hey you don’t get to go home there’s EVEN MORE IMPORTANT CRAP you need to do”
re: Mh stuff, personal history
@frostwolf Thanks!
*hugs if okay*
Seriously, although I don't remember much of the math from any of the lessons, I clearly remember hooking my ankles behind this crossbar on the kitchen chairs and pressing hard, because that was a way of expressing frustration that he wasn't able to see.

@Leucrotta Hugs are definitely okay! *hugs, squeezes, licks your muzzle*
...oof, that's too relatable. I don't recall us doing stuff like that, so I don't know why it is, but my first thought was "yeah mood".
[[?] Our memory from that time is /completely shot./]
... yeah... yeah, true. You're right.
[Also the general vibe.]
oh! yeah.
re: Mh stuff, personal history
@Leucrotta holy crap, yikes.
...and just because your dad never hit you doesn't make it nothing.
*waves paw at its parents.*
