In a fantasy world, what if the stereotype of “dwarf women have beards” is actually about trans dwarves? Dwarves seem like the sort of people who, when Sigfrith Sigmundssen states that she’s actually Sigrun Sigmundsdottir, swap out name and pronouns and go right back to smelting.

Like… I bet elves are non-binary enough that if someone’s trans, they swap out hair styles in a way that to an elf is like wrapping yourself in a huge pride flag with MY PRONOUNS ARE HE/HIS buttons, and which outsiders will never notice. Halflings I think use transitioning as an excuse for parties.

I bet in a fantasy world orcs pioneered mastectomies and you can instantly identify trans orc guys because they will fight topless just to show off the scars. I get the impression trans feminine orcs almost always become really creepy wise women.
