Imho most but not all our transport issues could be solved with better bus and train systems, not EVs, not bikes, which opens up a ton of issues; there are places where having little separate vehicles does work better, stressing biking over busses is this nasty urban classism with bits of racism, inefficient public transit means folks will swap from bussing if possible and the result is an option never supported enough. So it’s this tangled mess with no end in sight.

@IrisKalmia this! Only I hadn’t thought to phrase it that way before. Retooling engines for a subset who can afford it and no other changes is only feel good marketing, it by definition can’t fix anything, this is more of my class resentment…
