apparently I _do_ have to do a drug test for the new job and in the next three days
I'm going to fail for weed, and I pretty much just have to hope that it works like last time I took one for a job where I failed only because of weed and it ended up not mattering

while I can say that I'm "used" to jobs having background checks and credit checks, it's really fucked
I mean at least with background checks you can say it's mostly about verification you are who you say you are
but credit checks are a pure class gate that I don't at all see the relevance especially when the whole point of applying to a job is to make money which could be used to deal with credit issues

@chimerror I feel like, in a few decades, everything we take for granted - the incredibly mean form of capitalism, the horrifying homophobic politics, the eager non response to global warming- will all be viewed as backwards and cruel, assuming it’s not completely covered up by historical revisionism.
