@LexYeen you realize that this makes the men (and women, because saying so is NOT gonna piss anyone off more than the rest of this statement) of the Adeptes Astartes relatively ace or possibly pan because literally getting plugged directly into power armor is better than sex for them, which probably explains why it's so easy to convince someone who'd otherwise be a corpse to be jacked into a dreadnaught for centuries on end.

@LexYeen then that gets me to; Space Marines probably fuck on the regular and ARE NOT PICKY. If the biggest endorphin/dopamine hit you can get is being plugged in to expend John Woo like amounts of spent brass, and you can’t do that all the time, you’ll go for what’s close, and overeating or drinking is probably out unless you’re a Space Wolf.

@LexYeen oh but also with the original thesis;
You notice that the only piece of armor Marines discard in combat is the only piece which doesn’t have a direct connection to the wearer’s nervous system. And most Marines keep the helmets, which suggests any bragging rights or adrenaline rush they’d get is pretty minor.

@LexYeen There's probably an entire sector of the Gallente economy just made up of custom pod software to provide and play with that kind of reward. Like mining ship drivers which stimulate the pilot more and more as they fill up the hold, getting them closer and closer until finally, brimming with a massive load, they dock with a station and let it all out. Or maybe I've just got too many horny thoughts about EVE. :p

The vibrant, anticipatory chorus of swarm navigation signals as ore chunks are locked on to and collected, and vectors to the cargo doors plotted. And, of course, ever-more-sensitive proximity sensors being tripped as the distance closes, and finally the shot of joy as your automated cargo handling systems get a lock and stow it safely...
