@frost weird pacing. The second movie is either fightey or talky but never at the same time. The third puts an interesting story about Neo and Trinity on hold for stuff with Zion then forgets about Zion to do Neo stuff. All a contrast with how well crafted a story Matrix is.
@Leucrotta I always assumed it was "the story went in some kind of wonky direction people didn't like". Pacing seems like a slightly minor thing to "that never existed" a movie over.
