I was a little shit and responded in a public place on a furry MU* to someone sharing their AI art with

Someday when all the artists are paid royalties for having their work included in the training data and it's fully opt in, then it'll be ethical.
Until then it's just sparkling theft.
@Leucrotta No. Unless they were running their own machine learning instance, with its own exclusive set of ethically-harvested training data - which many people using machine learning image generators do not do! - then their joy was at the cost of exploiting countless artists who are already under-compensated for their labor.
