@frost I'm sorry. Hope you have somewhere close to get away from the road completely and chill out some.
@Leucrotta just finished crossing the street, standing on the corner. This was right outside home, so we'll be home in a second.
@Leucrotta I wonder if we can report this to the police somehow? We don't have the car model or plate unfortunately, but we have the exact time (time of the post, heh) and intersection.
@frost imho hold off - that's not much info to go on, and dealing with police is a stress bomb of its own even when they're theoretically on your side.
@Leucrotta and I thought the bus driver not hearing our bing and dropping us off on a random corner a couple blocks down the road was bad
/then that guy tries to hit us/
what even
@Leucrotta there were some Loud Motorcycle Types in really nice-looking vintage cars blasting loud music at the gas station we dropped off at. If anyone was gonna be a murderous asshole you might think it'd be them, right? Nope, they were cool. It was some random normal soccer-mom-type-SUV person.
@frost Really sorry this was that bad. The usual questions about how all of you are doing about food, water, going to the bathroom etc? as a reminder to do 'em, since that's easy to forget once really REALLY traumatized like that.
fortunately I think we're finer-than-usual on those
we pooped at Safeway, and also ate food at Safeway, and had coffee at the coffeeshop and a can of fizzwater walking back to the BART
so we're actually pretty good there!
@Leucrotta I just... why. I don't know why someone would try to run over a random critter crossing the street like this.
Do they hate disabled people or something?? We had our cane out and weren't hiding it. Or maybe we were "crossing the street too slowly" for them or some shit. Who knows...
@frost Or y'all read as overtly queer, or they hate pedestrians in general or they were just pissed off or something.
@Leucrotta ...we probably do read as overtly queer, with a beard + a purse. We weren't wearing our skirt, but.
@Leucrotta (it's weird that purses are gendered, but *waves paw* society)
@Leucrotta ... if we hadn't managed to stumble backward in time we'd probably be dead or at least super injured...
holyfuckingshitwhatthefuck
@Leucrotta we're used to monitoring as cars pull up to the red light, seeing if they look like they're going to blast right through, watching out and mumbling "you /better/ stop" if it looks like they're coming in too fast
(they generally do stop)
we're not used to a car stopping normally and THEN coming right for us!!
@Leucrotta and thank you. ![]()
@Leucrotta *leans against, all poofed up*
I bet they waited until we were in their lane
which they might not have done if they were only trying to scare the hell out of us
then again I think they /slightly/ swerved the way that we didn't dodge (but not by much)
then then again maybe they were just anticipating us dodging forward instead of backward? dunno.
