1) the actual Witchfinder General. Parliament never actually appointed him anything, he just decided he was in the witch hunt business (profitable!) and since he wasn’t doing anything technically illegal, they didn’t stop him.
2) “Fire” would have been heard/seen by John Blanche, Bryan Ansell etc.
