guess who woke up after 3 hours or so, saw that trains were running again, and went north?

So I'm now pinging between "SAD THE CON IS OVER AND I HAVE TO GO BACK TO BEING A DISPOSABLE NOTHING WITH NO MONEY AND A CRAPPY COMMUTE" with "that was amazing and now I'm very glad to have showered and eaten finally."

@frost walking with ghosts in the national parks,
coyotes tiptoe in the snow after dark
mankind's behavin' like some serial killers
big scary monsters afraid of the sharks
and we say we're in love with all of it
and we say what can we say
* curls up on train seat
* splays toes

@Leucrotta @frost Funny enough the screencaps from that music video are added to a coyote pic bot on fedi, saw one boosted earlier this week. :)

@Tvorsk @frost *politely gets off at the Pioneer Square station and goes running off towards Powell's City of Books*

@Leucrotta @Tvorsk do you tap your transit card to the faregates on the way out, confusing the humans, or just hop over/under them? :3

@frost @Leucrotta Transit around here operates on the *dis*honor system, so no gates to jump...

@Tvorsk @frost afaik the Max is a tap before you get on the train, with the caveat that the transit police might come through to check to see if you really bought a ticket. I might be getting confused with Seattle/Orca cards though, I've only been on the Max a few times.

@Leucrotta @Tvorsk VTA down south of us is like that!

Also ooo you have real trains up there?

@frost @Tvorsk Sort of. They've been adding a train system to public transit slowly - it's mostly linear but they're putting a spur out to Bellevue. It's not as nice as Max, but it's fast, it's really nice for this area.

@Leucrotta @Tvorsk Ooh neat! Sounds like we should still stay here for now, though. :3

(seriously, I /love/ the trains and I don't wanna live somewhere without trains now. Buses just don't have the cool factor, even light rail is close but still doesn't match.)

What's Max?

@frost @Leucrotta Max is the train network the coyote in the Modest Mouse video was taking.
It's "light rail" but then I think a lot of commuter oriented systems get that designation due to running smaller gauge and/or otherwise not being designed to allow massive cargo on the tracks...
