Reminded that minority experience is first and foremost about invisibility. You have a history and much of that is beatdowns from the hegemony (occasionally other minorities, or your own).
But Jews sprang into existence, like Athena from the forehead of Zeus, as people who well accepted in Europe around 1930 or so; trans women have only existed in the last two decades somehow; and there's a mysterious blank spot presumably full of Black people from 1864 to about 1950. A mere few minutes of reading uncovers a world of pain.
But then, not only would some people rather you not know, not only are feelings of resentful backlash pretty basically human, but look at the people at the top of this sick society; do these look like folks interested in much other than making money? Even their purported interest in GREAT WESTERN CIVILIZATION like the Roman empire is probably shallower than an average sophomore Civ major.
