No, it isn’t. I’ve worked with AI just enough to know that invariably it’ll fuck up, and some actual person who is not getting paid enough will now be stuck dealing with a customer, who is now more frustrated because the first layer of stuff they went through didn’t work as advertised.

I don't think I know anyone who prefers to talk to an AI.... I mean....Do you know anyone who actually PREFERS speaking to the AI phone voice over the phone?

Also how infuriating it is to have to ask to talk to a human, and then have to jump through hoops to do so?

No one liked this shit even back when it was just VOIP business phone systems when you had to wait to hit 0 to get sent to the operator.

AI customer service just feels like a fancier, techier version of gatekeeping.
