It now occurs to me that being an artist includes the process of feeling fairly good about what I've created, learned or achieved AND knowing there are lots of other people far better at this, without it having to be a competition. That what I do is actually okay without having to be the best, whatever that is. It's so very different than the exclusive, competitive attitudes of everything in childhood.

@Leucrotta NGL, there was a post I wanted to tag you on from a retro sci-fi/fantasy art account specifically because your work is better, but I chickened out because it was inked and you only do that rarely, even though you do it well. You definitely have a better handle on form than them, and they were published. You could probably find work in the indie tabletop sphere.

@bluestarultor Thank you! I'd still love to see (it's fantasy art after all). I really DO need to get off my ass and ink some, since pencilling is the most accessible thing I can do when I'm stressed. And remember there's a lot of things that make for better in art - outside of "can this artist deliver easily on schedule" inking always has a "is this a really pleasing contrast of dark and light."
