I'm going to let my GP know next week when I see her about the dizzy stuff, and also ask what she thinks about me getting a cane for balance. I hope she's supportive.

I've done a little bit of research so I know what kind(s) to be looking for in order to help me, not to mention how to measure the length, but I'll ask my GP for further advice about it.

Apparently I'd need one that stands up on its own to best help with balance, which makes sense. I've seen the big four-footed bottom ones, and there's apparently slightly smaller ones that can still stand up on their own.

I mostly just need it to lean on until the dizzy passes, although there is the rare occasion I need to sit back down instead. But something that can stand up on its own sounds pretty useful.

I think I'd end up using it around my house more than anything but if the problem is going to get worse then I might need it out of my house too.

TBH if I were to get a cane my two roommates (who I think might both seriously benefit from having canes, especially D with his Parkinson's which affects his balance, but also J could probably use one too) might consider canes for themselves too.

I might not need it *all* the time, and maybe my dizzy problem won't get worse after all, maybe yesterday was an outlier. But it's not a constant problem. However. I have worried what I'll do if it shows up while I'm out taking transit. Because sometimes I get dizzy when I stretch my arms above my head, sitting or standing. Stuff like that.

Anyways I think it probably wouldn't *hurt* for me to have one, right? So why not get one if I think it'll help?

@Bel_tamtu Also if you get a cane, you then have an idea of how practical or impractical it is. I'm all for getting it just to test out the concept, if you can afford it.
