Material can ship from vendors to the customer or ship here first for minor assembly (f’rex adding memory sticks or IUIDs).
It can be easy to put tracking information going to us or the customer in the wrong spot b/c;
* parts we process don’t have a SKU naming convention
* orders can mix both
* status tag is supposed to flag this but doesn’t always
* the UI is set up for tracking from vendor to customer; everything else is in “notes” so prior info can be hard to spot.

* although FedEx shows delivery address obviously, some other shippers don’t, so it’s not always a reliable cue to where to put tracking info.
And if/when I put tracking info in the wrong place (an inevitability given the volume of material) I feel it’s catastrophized like any other mistake here.
