The laser (1800W suborbital doom-beam) at work, has another laser (dinky little 5V LED chip laser with a diffraction grate cross lens) bolted to it, to show what the doom beam emitter is pointed at. See, the 'bore through you faster than you can blink' laser isn't visible-light spectrum, so it comes with a keychain laser to show what's gonna get lased.
And *that* laser is frotzed.
It needs a seeing-eye laser so we can lase with the laser you can't see.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@001zlnv The latter would be most sensical, but the problem's really just a broken wire - so I'm going to repair the break with a jumper or two and reinstall the original part. I try to reuse the original equipment as much as possible. It's like Herbie the Love Bug, the magic's in the steel. n.n

@Momentrabbit
... you can't just duct tape a kitty-red-dot beam emitter to it?

@JulieSqveakaroo I am tempted.

makes sense to me! co-axial lasering!
so is the little laser specific to the big laser or is it just a matter of getting a cheep laser and aligning it with the burn hole made by the big laser?
