Homophobia, intersex, workplace, (++)
I came out to my Homophobic Portuguese boomer supervisor today. He thought he could make fun of my kilt by calling it a Skirt.
Welcome to Verdun!
The artillery was "It's a Kilt, you'd know if I was wearing a skirt, it'd be colorful and floral, this is a Work Skirt, Weekend skirts keep getting appropriated by my Wife"
The surprise machinegun nest was: "No, I'm not transgender, I'm a Hermaphrodite. Intersex. Got some peanutbutter in my Chocolate."
The countercharge Kessel was: "No, I don't really go in for Guys, most guys are Bastards, never had a relationship with a guy work out."
Yes, it's crude, no, I'd never speak to a Peer that way, but it's Revealing how Queer Discourse looks through a Translator so Boomer Guys who Don't Read can understand it.
The part that makes me a little Ill? That was the "Correct" way to handle it, issue got dropped, Queerness was Represented, Honor was maintained. It just makes me feel a bit Dirty to have to speak in the vernacular of toxic masculinity.
Even though, that was the only way to Communicate and get the message across with the appropriate Nuance.
