@Felthry @skolli @IrisKalmia *Handwavey* I've known an Awful lot of otherkin folks, and they get Actual body dysmorphia. One girl told me she couldn't ride bicycles or motorcycles because she didn't have her Tail. and she'd tip over.
And my housemate, Duke, well, he stays quiet about it but I've seen the dragon soul that lives in him, and I'm not prepared in any way to argue that it's not like, a thing.
So, usually it's a Spirit or Soul identity that's nonhuman. And generally Very nonhuman.
@Felthry @skolli @IrisKalmia I went from not considering myself otherkin to shooting straight past that into wildly uncharted areas. I mean does it count when an otherworldly spirit shows up when you're 33?
@skolli @Felthry @IrisKalmia I was gonna chime in here but I asked everyone in here and they've all got their own ways they dodge that psychological issue.
And they're all more trouble than they're Worth.
I mean this almost sounds like an Otherkin-level dysmorphia. Speaking from experience.
Take a moment to consider all the paths to the Dark Side that basically just have the allure of 'Because it's too damn Fun'.
