So, prompted by another thread:

I don't really want a fursuit, and especially not a fursuit head. What I want a face covering that explicitly reads as a mask.

It's a weird reverse thing? To me personally, a fursuit head that tries to be as realistic as possible would still feel like costume. A mask, however, acknowledges my embodied human form while being a reflection of a deeper underling animality.

@starkatt doesn't sound weird, in the off-putting way, to me! Many many furries get by with a headband-ears and/or tail, others are ok with just a wolf t-shirt, and many don't dress differently at all.
