Oh, another tip for new Mastodon users. There is no global search, outside of users or hashtags. That means you can criticise and curse things using their true name without accidentally summoning a group of sealions.

@Felthry oh further context, on Twitter there's universal search, so trolls often search for key words and phrases to find their victims and start the sea lion process. My tip was that, unlike Twitter, that can't happen here, by design.

@Mycroft Search tip: U can put a post URL you found somewhere else into the search box to go to that post and boost or like it. For instance if someone linked you to a post on another instance via another social media service and you want to boost it.
