If I got free money (like the US$16k/yr the article mentioned) I know I'd use that stability to faff around a bit, but I'd also poke around, try harder to find something I like to do and is beneficial to society. That's very hard for me to do right now. If I could pursue that with an easy safety net, I'd be overjoyed.

I believe in the idea of a universal basic income, as it would give a no-strings-attached floor of economic stability to everyone. Yes, there's social services to help the poor/needy, but they're often insanely bureaucratic, degrading, and overly punishing of mistakes.

What system, and what plot? Fate or Savage Worlds, if I can learn enough to GM those, might be generic and useful. Apocalypse World hacks I've heard are super fun, but no experience.

Someday, SOMEDAY, I want to write a short one-shot tabletop RPG featuring form-changing robots, to run at a convention. I could have little toy cars for each of the players to fiddle with. Maybe commission some simple art of what each bot would look like. @boots I saw something on this recently! I can't find it now, but the trend stemmed from terrible Spiderman/Elsa videos from at least a year ago, and have spiraled out into all kinds of unauthorized uses of familiar characters doing all kinds of weird (and not in a good way) things. Video I saw was well-researched and in-depth, but I can't find it now. :(

Otoh she actually graduated high school which put her a considerable cut above the rest.

@tcql@octodon.social Before the chip-and-pin thing came along, my bank was able to print me a new (but flat) card within minutes, saying it might take up to an hour to activate, but I was able to use it right away.
But can't do that anymore, because security.
